Hey everyone!

I just bought myself a 72' Telecaster Deluxe reissue.
It's sooo damn sexy. (Will post pics. later cuz now I'm in a hurry)
But I've got a problem.
I'm used to play with 10-52 strings but they don't fit on this guitar cause of the tuning heads and the plastic thing before the fretboard.
What can I do about it?
Will ordinary 10's fit on it?

Fender fit smaller nuts on their guitars which are usually made for 9s but ive seen 10s on them before, just go to the shop u bought it from and ask them to set it up for 10-52 shouldnt take a tech longer than half hour

with the machineheads thats wierd but i cant help you there apart from suggest replacements

afew models do but its general consensus in their company to load 9s in most guitars now or to use super bullet 10s on rare occasions. But the tele the TS is speaking about was factory set for 9s if i remember correctly

Those tuning machines are called split shaft style, they are the old style of fender tuners and you need to re string them a bit differently but it shouldn't be a problem to put .10s on them. Look up on google split shaft tuners and I'm sure you'll find a nice tutorial
good luck!

I know how to restring those cuz my bro has similar ones on his bass.
But 0.52 doesn't fit in

So it sounds like your guitar's nut is not cut deep enough, personally I would take it to a good guitar tech for a new bone nut cut for .10s.
