So I was planning on bringing Catacombs, one of the scariest movies in a while IMO, to movie night. But since the hostess, Jordan, isn't 17, her mom says no R-rated movies. So I need something that's PG-13 rated and actually scary that I could get my hands on at the local Blockbuster.

My first pick was Uninvited, but I'll let you guys throw in your 2 cents.
I lol'd you've been warned

uhh, it's pretty easy to get R movies. Just hire a bum to walk in with you and say they are your parent. Or something more sensible.

The hosting mom is saying no R movies. I personally am 17 and could get anything on gods green earth.

The Amityville Horror(2005) ?
[REC] / Quarantine ?
Session 9?
Drag me to hell ?

EDIT: none of these a PG-13, in fact ''Horror-PG-13'' is an Oxymoron.

You should BUY an R rated movie that no one has seen/heard of, therefore do not know the rating.

You scan it into the computer, edit it so that it says PG-13 instead of R, you print it and put it into the DVD Box. instead of the original

I don't think a good horror movie has to be R-rated, but I generally don't like horror movies so I can't think of any at the moment. Maybe you could try browsing imdb.com?

The Dark Knight? Not exactly horror, but Ledger made a damn good attempt at making the viewer jump.

Signs was decent, but it's not really scary.

EDIT: to instill a different kind of fear in your fellow partygoers, you could always have them watch Super Size Me.

The uninvited blows. Wait until "Drag me to Hell" comes out on DVD. You could get "The Sixth Sense", though.

A Haunting in Connecticut was surprisingly intense for being PG-13.

I don't think it's out yet though...

DRAG ME TO HELL

It's still in theaters, but it's one of the best horror movies I've ever seen, and it's PG-13

Theres no such thing as a PG-13 horror movie. Atleast not one that will actually scare people.

Edit: Wouldn't call it a horror movie, but get Jaws. One of the most suspenseful (if it wasn't a word before, it is now) films of all time. Anyone that says otherwise, hasn't seen the movie.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Unborn are the scariest PG-13 movies that I've seen in a while. That's just to say that they gave me chills occasionally. Good luck with your search.
Some people just wanna watch the world burn. Wanna join me when I take my turn to pour the gas, light the match, see your world flip upside down and drop until it's inside out?
