Hey everyone. I just bought a cool Gibson Flying V in Heritage Cherry from eBay.

It's the same as this-

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Flying-V-Electric-Guitar?sku=517330#new

However, it didn't come with a hardshell case. And I can't seem to find a Gibson-made hardshell case for it.

Yesterday I went on Musician's Friend and found this-

http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Flying-V-Hardshell-Case?sku=540821#new

Would an Epiphone Flying V hardshell case be big enough to store a typical Gibson Flying V?

Do any of you Gibson experts here know for sure?

Thanks in advance!

They're literally the same dimensions in every way, so I don't see why it wouldn't

It's been discontinued. So I was hoping if the Epi hardshell case would be a good substitute.

see a better question (at least for me) would be how accommodating/roomy is the epi firebird case, and will it fit my custom built firebird? the body is pretty close but idk...

Yes an Epi case will work fine. I use one with my Gibson Faded V. See pics below.

Is that an old Epi case? The one on Musician's Friend has the Epi logo rather than the word "Epiphone".

I don't know what year it is. It came with an Epiphone V I had. The Epi V was a '06 so the case might be an '06 too. My Gibson V came with a gig bag so I kept the Epi case and traded the Epiphone V off with the Gibson gig bag.
