Well here's the deal.

I have a gig in november, i started playing last year. Im not bad but im no Yngwie.

I need to play 9 songs, ALL MUST BE INSTRUMENTALS (i will only be playing with drummer)

I need help with the setlist, suggest me "easy" instrumental songs.

Here are ones i'm going to play for sure:
1. Tender surrender: i can play it, i mainly improvise the tap part but i like it
2. Canon rock: i still don't memorize the whole thing but i know all the sweep shapes already so it'll be easier
3. Cliffs Of Dover: It's pretty easy, the intro and outro are complicated because of the tempo but i can do it
4. Always With Me, Always With You: i think it's the easiest of the setlist, i love it.
5. Ten Words: easy song
6. Technical Difficulties: i love this song, the solos are pretty easy.

Edit: I call BS that you can play Technical Difficulties well enough to do a solo performance in front of people after just 1 year.

Ten Words is way easier than Always!
Try Frank by Steve Vai, that's fairly easy (you'll need a slide or a tremolo unit to do the solo though), maybe Rusty Old Boat or Bultaco Saturno by Paul Gilbert (both very pentatonic based).
Also look into some Buckethead, like Binge and Grab or Welcome to Bucketheadland, both fun, simple and up-tempo

I wrote it because I know that when you read "adult content" your penis starts shaking and you would enter the damn thread.

Yep, a fine idea.

Write a song yourself.

I've been playing for a year and a half, and I can't even play "Under The Bridge". Instead of shredding i've learned what chords sound nice together and to write music around those chords. Anybody can be a guitar player, it takes work to be a guitarist though.

Altitudes by Jason Becker, and Soothsayer by Buckethead.

I also don't believe that you could accomplish those songs in a single year of playing, but hey, if you did, congrats.

Moby Dick, give your drummer some props.

then the Devil is 6, then the Devil is 6, then the Devil is 6, the Devil is 6,
And if the Devil is 6,

then God is 7, then God is 7, then God is 7

Not really easy, but i ment it didn't take me too long to learn it completely.

Quote by magnus_maximus
Excellent choice. Wonderful guitar tune. I'm trying to learn it, and, needless to say, failing miserably.

Yeah it's excellent, I thought about playing that song but I don't own a strat and it just kills the whole thing without S/S/S and that tube tone

^ Little Wing is excellent, I like to have a mellow tone with some reverb.

Playing little wing at the end would be good.

No need to get all defensive. I'm just trying to save you horrible embarassment. Too many guitarists think they are way better than they really are.

Sounds like a great set, though you have plenty of balls to try Tender Surrender!
I've been playing for nearly 4 years, I can do most of the songs on this list, but I can't touch Tender Surrender!

No way after one year can you do Technical Difficulties and Canon Rock no problem.

Unless you have no life at all outside of guitar?

No offense, but a year? Look, even if you can play along to the recording of technical difficulties in your bedroom all fine and dandy, (which is impressive enough), when you get up on stage, remember that you play at about 80% of your maximum ability, so be careful.

There is nothing worse sounding than badly done shred. So you better be able to play that **** with your eyes closed if you want to pull it off. Good luck man.

I know, but i've played a pretty big gigs already and yesterday I played Tender Surrender in front of like 100 people and I did fine. I think I'm going to do well, if i don't think positively no one is going to do that.
