So I just a strat copy, brand name austin, off my friend for 40 bucks. If I go on their website it says Solid Wood Body, I checked out some reviews and one guy said its chinese elm, kinda like ash and alder. Anyone have any experience with this type of wood? Also, I gutted the guitar as there were no strings, so I didn't play it. I just ordered a new neck and pickups and hardware for it, just wondering it will have a bright sound like alder. Dosen't matter either way though.
