Just a simple question:

Would my Ibanez Toneblaster X 30W handle a wah pedal like the WD7 well? My amp is solid state, 10" speaker, 30W.

thanks

Any amp will 'handle' a wah pedal. It's a pretty crappy amp though, in honesty.

Yeah...I noticed .

I was just worried that pedals were a bit like active pickups in that it needed better amps in order to reach its full potential.

Not at all. Buy it now, and it'll hopefully sound even better if you decide to upgrade your amp.

OK basically my local store's Ibanez Weeping demon pedals are out of stock...so i wont be able to try this pedal out first hand.

Using the song 'Enter Sandman' as an example, is it safe to say that I will like this pedal and shouldn't need to try it out? Would a pedal like this WD7 be able to recreate the wah sounds that Kirk Hammett uses?

THX. Hopefully I shouldn't need to try out the pedal and i can just order online.

Do you really need a Wah? I'd just save up for a better amp and then look into effects later.

Yeah I need a wah quite urgently, since my 'band' is practising songs that require wah to sound proper. Besides, we rent a band room with a better amp, so I use that one anyway. i just need to know if the Ibanez WD7 suits Kirk Hammett's wah style..

Thx

It's not the greatest wah, either, IMO, though it certainly looks cool.

+a billion, except it looks disgusting too >.>

I'm not a gigantic fan of the looks, but it's interesting in a BC Rich/Bernie Rico Jr sort of way.

It's a good pedal, though for Kirk Hammett's kind of sound you might want to look for something else, but it could work. I like that you can switch between bass and treble modes.

Get it. I have it and I love it. Love it so much. It has 5 knobs. There's a fine tuning and delay knob under the pedal and the knobs lock in place so they don't get moved. I play allot of metallica. It's great for enter sandman and 2x4

OK...some pretty mixed opinions about it...but I suppose I'll take the risk and order the pedal without trying it out first.

Unless someone has a last-minute important suggestion to make!

^ If you're getting it for Metallica, why not just get a 535Q?

the 535q is beyond my budget. Since I'm in Hong Kong, i dont get the nice deals that musiciansfriend and all the rest offer, usually the list price is charged, so the 535q would cost me 250 USD. However since I'm such a Kirk Hammett fan, I might go ahead and buy his signature wah.

Is there anything special about his wah other than the fact that it's got the name 'Kirk Hammett' on it? I hope it's not another cheap knockoff where they just get the original crybaby and slap on a new skin and call it a new wah.
