I have a Mesa/Boogie F-50 with EHX 6L6EH Power Tubes, and they get really hot. I just bought the amp today. I'm just wondering if this is normal

I tried the searchbar, but couldn't find anything

A vacuum tube is hotter. It's a thermionic device which means it works by getting hot.

Well, a light bulb gets up to 2000 K to 3300 K (1727 to 3027°C, 3100 to 5400°F). As hot as some stars.

I fail to see your point?
They're both hot, was there any need to be so anal about it?

I wasn't saying you were wrong [but was you? I mean, that's the filament temperature - which is why the light is that colour because of the high temperature, but tubes glow orange, and orange light suggests it's not the same], just saying it wasn't really too useful to say that, and I used lightbulbs as an example.

Whatever, no hard feelings.

The heat from your tubes may seem insane to some, depending on the cultural norms of that society. However, the heat should be functional in its own environment, so clinically sane.
