Just wondering if any of you guys know any metal songs based around the concept of satire?

Im sorry, I just don't see how you could argue that hardcore isn't metal. That just seems arrogant to me.

Yes, its its own kind of metal, but its still metal.

You could argue that almost all metal (especially the more outlandish sub-genres) includes an element of self-satire, but as the past has proved that's a concept very few people here are willing to understand.
#14
Dethklok like everyone mentioned.
It's not satirical, but I thought it's funny when CoB does odd covers like the Titanic theme and Oops I Did It Again.

Presumptuous, aren't ya? You always feel the need to storm crap threads and further crap in them, spouting about the members being ignorant or the like. I've seen your posts before, and none of them are well-constructed or worth anyone's time. Thanks for trying to be useful, though. You did a crackerjack job at attempting humor, but fell short simply because it was worthless and ultimately a waste of everone's time.

Thanks for posting crap, and I expect to see more of it, whether anybody wants to or not.

It's a harder concept to grasp than you may think. I'm trying to find satire in music to try and help me understand it more for my English course

Maybe for some people. But in my last high school english class, satire was pretty much the only thing we focused on in written works. I can spot satire from a mile off in the fog when it's wearing camo.

There is also a cartoon about the band called Metalocalypse, and it's one of the funniest shows (the funniest?) ever.

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

Ah, the bleating of someone whose idea of high comedy is American Pie. Beautiful.

Agreed on all counts.

Type O Negative's 'Black No. 1' is a brilliant example.

A Gothic Metal band taking the piss out of Goth chicks, brilliant.

Oi, that was a good movie.
Dyer's Eve is awesome, and has an abnormally large penis, which doesn't act as any hinderance to his everyday life despite its freakishly large size.

Indeed. Shame all the sequels and knockoffs sucked dick, though.

I stand by AP2 and 3 being good. AP4 and onwards were Dane Cook (see below).

After hearing so much about how this guy sucks so much balls, I decided to scratch the itch. Said itch turned into a gangrenous open wound infested with maggots and flesh eating bacteria.

The horror...

Well, fine, AP 2 and 3 weren't terrible, but they still weren't very good. All the spinoffs after that, Band Camp, The Naked Mile, etc. were all fucking horrible, though. Really don't know how they got away with slapping the American Pie label on them, seeing as they have no characters from American Pie...

money grab, yo

it's how the entertainment industry works

establish a 'franchise' people will remember, then you can make whatever pile of shit you like and people will still go see it/buy it (not as many as if it was actually good, but enough)

movies (and games) would be sooo much better all-around if sequels were banned

then the makers would actually be forced to get creative
