Ok, so I've actually had the amp and cab for a while now but I was banned so this is my NGD thread!

First off, my ENGL Savage 60! I got it used last Christmas for 450€, very cheap for something like this. It's a two channel amp with only one EQ, good thing that I don't play clean

Yes, that's a Boss Metal Core pedal going into it. It doesn't have that great of a tone but the amp doesn't give enough gain at lower volume levels so it's just what I have , it was cheap dammit!

Then, today I got a Fast Track 2 put into my Strat! Yay, finally high output and a good palm muting sound!

I also had it restringed with .12s because .09s starting feeling dorky. They feel great and are heavy as hell but if I don't at least downtune 1 full step, it lifts up the bridge really high and it doesn't look very healthy. Right now, I'm in D standard and it looks like this.

Is this ok?

Thanks for having me UG!

Very nice gear you got, as for the bridge, it shouldn't be like that. It should be level with the body. Look in the Floyd Rose setup thread (same process for leveling bridge)

Loosening the screws on the tremolo cavity should fix that up.

Distortion pedal with an ENGL savage..FOR SHAME!

I run a blackmore throught that same cab, so it seems we have pretty similar tastes!

*edit*

on the pic it looks like you have 70% treble and 0% presence. You'll have more audible distortion/gain if you run 50% treble and 40% presence.

Sorry man but it's just not enough gain at bedroom levels!

No, it'll do the opposite.

TIGHTEN the screws, or, add more springs. Going to 12's Im gonna say make sure you max out on the number of springs in the back of that puppy!

No, it shouldnt cause any harm, BUT, I wouldnt play it like that (As in I wouldnt set it up like that on purpose) Fix it! Cant be good for your action man!
Life is like an Empty Box, there could be something exciting in it at first look, but upon further review, well, it's empty.

I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

If you're going from 9 to 12 gauge you might need to slap one or two extra springs on back there.

TIGHTENING

no loosening that ould make it worse

you might also want to add an extra spring or two

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
