I want to buy a wah-pedal but have never owned or used one before. I know the big name is Jim Dunlop - can anyone tell me why they're so good/what to look for in a wah-pedal? Do they just differ in tone?

For metal the weeping demon. Don't fall for signature models. I love dime but his models are overpriced and overated. Don't get the crybaby from hell. The weeping demon also does funk and rock pretty well too.

weeping demon wahs suck imho.

i had one once, it broke on me in mid-song at a battle of the bands once.

never used, bought or recommended one since.

if you want the real biz, get the full tone clyde mccoy wah.

Everybody likes a differant wah pedal, I like the boss pw-10 myself. Your best bet is to go into a shop and play around with equipment as similar to the stuff you ahve at home as possible.

You're looking for range, tone of the wah and how quiet they are when not in use.
