hey , i have decided to make my own guitar and am now nearly finished with it but i am having second thoughts on my pickup choice. i picked up a pair of unknown brand overwound pickups for 20$ @ guitar fetish.com i dont know much about overwound pickups but i have heard that they could fry your wiring and i don't want that! so any thoughts or sugestions for electronics/pickups for aperson on a tight budget would be greatly appreciated. thanx

I dont think those pups could damage much, except the sound of your guitar.

No pickup will "fry your wiring" unless you short-circuit an active circuit, or try to add a battery to a passive circuit.

From what I've heard, those pickups are pretty good for the price.

GFS pickups are usually really good for the price, not sure about that particular model though.

it's basically just a mockingbird body shape with the sg "horn"on the opposite side.
the only other difference other than that is the rear end of the guitar isn't the same
also its arch top.

Not spam for the win.

Seriously, use it. Your post contributed absolutely nothing to the solution. And next time you vouch for spell check, you might want to capitalize the beginning letter of your sentence

I personally own a pair of these pickups and I can tell you they will not fry any of your wiring, and actually sound pretty damn decent for the price!

We should see some pictures of this build, too!
