Check it out, my friends. 100W of all British tube. The JCM-800 2210 Lead!

I've waited damn near two weeks for this bad boy, and it's finally here. I plugged it in and I was a little confused. It seems, that you need to have the channel volume up as high as it goes then adjust the master knob accordingly. There are a few pots that need cleaning, and I'd like to replace the Electro-Harmonix Tubes with some JJ's, but I need to pay off my debt first.

As far as the tone goes, it's so easy to see why so many people love Marshall. The distortion is thick and brown with a natural amount of treble. This amp has a lot of feel to it, so I can lower down the volume knob on my gain channel and play quietly to get a harmonically rich clean with a slight dirt, and then dig in to get a bluesy-break up. As far as the gain on tap, it's no "nu-metal" chunk, but when I busted out the intro to Hangar 18 by Megadeth (that's not my normal playing style), the distortion was thick, but the notes rang together perfectly.

Guns n Roses sounds damn near perfect. I haven't found my perfect tone yet, but I only got to twiddle with it for about 30 minutes.

EDIT: It didn't come with a footswitch, so I need to go buy the JCM-900 footswitch that has the reverb/channel buttons.

I payed about 1000USD for it, but it's well worth the money. Amazing amp.

Now, here are the pics for it!

I tried to get up and let you see the individual knobs, but the flash on my phone reflects off of the brass plating.

Stacked on top of my cab. (I wanna get a 1960A cab. But that won't be for a long time.)

That's it with the grill....

...and without the grill. I like it better off!

Out of curiosity, what is that blue thing? It's not the preamp tube, is it?

Well, I'd like to welcome you to the long list of people on this site I now hate for having a JCM 800. Congrats.

You're not too high up. If it was a 2204 I'd hunt you down.

if you want some of that "natural treble" to go away, crank it up louder. JCM 800's are kinda notoriously bright at lower volumes.
Also, try putting your mids around 4, treble around 6, and bass around 6 or 7, and gain to taste, and you have instant black sabbath.

I 'think' the only caps you need to worry about are the one's inside the chassis.

I'll get it (along with the other new NADs) added to the NAD Collection. Rock on.
