I've played the 1x12 combo. I remember being really impressed with it for it's tone and versatility.

Has anyone had issues with one? Any problems or concerns? Just looking for honest opinions here. Good, bad or ugly.

Thanks in advance.

I liked it...but only played it for a short time. I liked the Bassman clean channel and the drive was nice.

From what I've heard, it's very nice. Although on high gain settings it seemed a bit muddy, through Youtube.

Its not a bad amp but you can get better drive from a mesa express or something like that.

Thats just my two cents, overall it was nice.

right.

I'm going to play one again in a little bit.

As Mr Hankey knows I am considering one in a trade. But I'm on the fence and don't want to make a bad call because I'm not unhappy with what I have.

Edit: Thanks for your thoughts guys up there that posted. I appreciate it.

I've played both the head and the combo pretty extensively.

The overdrive is very Mark-ish. However, you can dial it to be very Texas Blues/tweed overdrive type sounding by balancing the 2 gain controls etc.

Both clean channels are exceptional.

I like the head version a bit more through a Greenback cab than the standard V30 cab.

I've had the combo version for about 6 months now, no major complaints and I'm really enjoying it so far. The built in reverb was dropped for the head for some reason, so I had to go with the combo. The V30 worked well for the clean channels, but the drive channel was really tight and seemed kind of harsh to me, so I swapped it for an old blue label Fender/Jensen. I'm really loving the way it breaks up at higher volumes now.

Hey, Greg! I know a couple guys that use them, & they sound pretty damn good actually. I've never gotten to play one yet, but I like their tones.

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to pass on the trade offer tho for a couple reasons. It's really too many watts for my needs mostly. Nice amp tho and I agree great tone. But I wouldn't be able to get into it's sweet spot in my condo, and I don't jam out as much as I'd like. Not enough to crank it all that much anywho, which it loves.

I thought it was a good attempt by fender to make a good high-gain amp. but it more for high gain blues and rock, it's no good for metal. it's f*cking perfect for Eric Johnson or Satch, but it's got a pretty flabby low end IMO. too flabby for metulz.

But you have to admit, Chicago is better than most major cities in the US. Restaurants, blues clubs, concerts, the lakefront.

I wasn't a big fan of the drive on the supersonic. Also, it jumps volume from 1/2 to 1 pretty fast. It just wasn't for me.

all i know is my Best Buy has one so I need to go check it.

Gratz on the Ampeg so I guess it's moot for now

Not to bump a dead thread, but I agree about the overdrive channel.

That said, I thought the cleans were fantastic.
