Hey guys. I'm admittedly not the best at EQ'ing and whatnot, but I'm a HUGE fan of Steven Wilson's guitar tone (of Porcupine Tree mainly). He has a very appealing distortion tone but manages to pull off a great clean as well.

I know I don't have the best gear ever (all of it is in my sig), but with what I have I am looking for help in trying to find a similar tone. A great distortion with a good clean as well.

The two main pieces of gear I use are a Schecter C-1 Classic (with Jazz and JB humbuckers) and a Peavey Classic 30. I guess the main thing I'm looking for is some EQ, and what exactly I should be doing to model this tone.

I'm looking for something along the lines of the song "Shallow" by PT. I can't find a great YouTube clip as most of them have been taken down. This is one of the better ones I could find, and it still sucks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5_h9XnFz-0

Thanks.
