I've only been playing guitar for 2 years and have a crappy 15w very basic fender amp that just broke....I want to get a decent amp for less than 300USD. Since I'm still a beginner I'm not looking for anything amazing, any recommendations or personal experiences on buying your second amp??

Well if you are looking for versatility and not looking to play extreme metal I would take a look at the Vox Vavletronix, it's got great tone for a modeling amp and at 30 watts it should be able to jam with a drummer. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Vox-Valvetronix-VT30-30W-1x10-Guitar-Combo-Amp?sku=483552#new

However you are more into the classic Vox tone you should also look at their new low wattage tube amp the AC 4tv, I've heard it's got a great tube amp breakup

What kind of music, bands etc?
Ever play with a drummer? Or just practice at home?
Guitar(s) you use?
You can get a decent amp for $300, depending on where you are on the planet. Nearest major metropolis?
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.
