Solder it back together. 10 to 15 quid for a decent soldering iron, a stand and solder.

Easy job, much cheaper than a pro.

Alright, the wire is and has a bundle of silver stringy wire inside. I can solder that?

solder the strands of the wire first as to make it a solid piece of wire. then solder that to the connector .
