Hi. I've had the account for a while but I've just recently started posting.

Anyway the band and I are going to start gigging and I have the dilema of buying a good/decent gigging amp that won't break the bank. I've been using a roland micro cube for 3 years. :-\

But aye any suggestions?

do the venues that you're going to play at mic your amps?

that's a big factor in if you need to go big or go for tone (since you're limited on budget)

i'd say you should probably check out the Peavey Valveking tho

not sure what you could get for £200, you can get a blackheart handsome devil head (best in its pricerange) but youd need a cab.

Epiphone Futura Custom Prophecy (Twin EMG)
Vox Valvetronix VT20+
Vox Wah
Boss MD-2
Danelectro Cool Cat Drive

can you go used??
you could get a Flextone or a RM20 (probably too high tho)if you look hard enough.

and try some laney's, i dont have any experience with them so i cant suggest a specific amp model.

You could get a Line 6 Flextone if you looked hard enough.

Also, maybe a Peavey Ultra.

for £200 youd be lucky to nab any of the above

flextones are about £350, even a Laney LC15 is £250.

and no chance of a Peavey ultra, 6505 or 5150 even used.

I've seen a used Flextone on Gumtree for £100. Wish I pulled the trigger on it.

Anyway TS, being honest, you'll need to up that budget at least a little for something halfway decent for gigging. Considering what you have spent on some poor pedals (I won't mention which ones), an extra £100 or thereabouts is feasable. This gives you the option of some of the following amps.

NEW
Peavey Valveking
Line 6 Flextone - Brand new for £280 - Google it!
Vox VT series

USED
Check eBay and Gumtree. I've seen Marshall JCM 2000s on there for £300. Looking used is the best option as there is a plethora of amps out there, but remember rule number 1.

DO NOT BUY A CRAP SOLID STATE LIKE A MARSHALL MG OR A LINE 6 SPIDER FOR GIGGING, IN FACT, APPLY THAT TO ANY CHEAP SOLID STATE! ALSO, YOU DON'T NEED A HALFSTACK!

Good luck!
