Used the searchbar, nothing came up, so excuse me if this is an old idea. Inspired by all the 'orgasmic songs' or 'orgasmic riffs' threads.

What are some songs with simply brilliant bass lines/solos? Some of my favorites are:

1. The solo in the beginning of RATM's I'm Housin'.
2. William's bass solo in AC/DC's 'Sin City'.
3. Commerford's bass line in RATM's 'Bullet in the Head'.
4. Intro solo in RATM's 'Calm Like a Bomb'.
5. The small solo in Led Zeppelin's 'Good Times Bad Times'
All for one and one for all.
RHCP- Show Me Your Soul

Edit: The whole of Lemon Song- Led Zeppelin

See that's where you're wrong. Unless you're playing it as an octave third with D.

Anyway, I like the bassline in Crazy Train xD...

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt - The Mars Volta

Seriously, Flea plays a great bass solo.

Day Of The Baphomets - The Mars Volta

Super crazy bass at the beginning

Higher Ground - RHCP

The most recognizable for me

My Generation - The Who

Very recognizable

The Ox - The Who

I think thats what its called

Hysteria - Muse

Another One Bites the Dust - Queen
The intro to Scarred by Dream Theatre. That's purely a 6 string bass mofos.

A friend of mine played it on his and I was shocked because I always thought it was synth + bass.

The bass line in the verse sections is pure awesome. As somebody already mentioned, Hysteria has a great bass line too.

Another Bites the Dust - Queen
Roundabout - Yes (they've got the best sounding bassist ever)
The entire Quadrophenia album - The Who (or honestly their whole discography)
Come Together - The Beatles

And for one probably nobody's heard, Secret World - Peter Gabriel (he's got an exceptional bassist, Tony Levin, in his band)

And for some Michael Jackson love, Thriller, Billie Jean, Bad, Smooth Criminal

4. Intro solo in RATM's 'Calm Like a Bomb'.

Most Streetlight Manifesto bass riffs are sexy, sexy. But why isn't this in the Bass Forum

Also, lol at the 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 joke.
