I am starting on a neck through build, and I need wood... but I am having trouble finding it online and I don't know any lumber yards here. So, if anyone knows a lumber yard between Baltimore,MD and WV let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.
Or if you know a quality online source.

Me and another user, lumberjack, have gotten some stuff from here. My only complaint is they dont stock quilted maple, but have tonnnnnnns of every other variety.

I would hope so, its easily 4/5A

Prices? greattt. But they make you buy a whole board, unless its a top like flamed maple.
Like me fore example, i bough 6' of alder, since i had no other choice. It wasn't too much though, if i remember right. $5 planing fees.

Really helpful too, i had them plane about 9 pieces of maple before i left, i was there for over an hour looking through stuff.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

quilted maple is quite rare, hence not being able to buy it. It only grows in big leaf maple in europe i think..

I'm in the MD VA area too. I searched and heard about this place called Hicksville planing mill, I think it's in VA but I'm not positive. I've read nothing but good stuff about them. Apparently it's run by a group of Mennonites, a bunch of nice fellas.
