So im getting 400 dollars today and im wondering if i should go with a Carvin Legacy head and Avatar contemporary custom 2X12 Cab, Or an Ibanez RG350M

What do you guys think.

I want the guitar before it get discontinued but i really need a new amp.

Also Would the legacy and a 2X12 be okay for practicing in my house?

I would probably go for a new amp my friend - with a new amp, your current guitars will sound better and you can still get a guitar down the line. If you get the guitar first you're more likely to be disappointed.

this you already have a competent guitar in the form of the ibanez s series and even if the guitar goes out of production you can still get hold of it

as long as you don crank it, but if you want the tone of the cranked amp, get a volume pedal.

if it makes you feel better, i have a jsx 4x12 half stack, and it works just fine at household volumes.

i am in the market for an attenuator for the cranked tone, but even at low volume its great.

I've heard that the legacy sounds fine at low volumes

definatly get the amp before the guitar.

Definitely go for the Avatar cab. I haven't had a chance to play the head, but I've heard good things about it. Definitely go for the amp.

it just "clamps the sound" of the feed, not the amps settings, something like that, dont quote me. but i have used one, all it does is lower volumes.

The Legacy looks pretty nice, but what music are you playing?

As well, Legacy and 212 for $400!?

And just something to note, the Legacy is apparently VERY loud, even at lower volumes.

Definitely get the legacy. You'll be very happy with it.
Saying that, there are probably other amps worth considering.
