Actually it should be new NGYesterD, but screw it. I got me a Cort KX1Q to replace my GRG170DX which, admittedly, wasn't a bad guitar. But when I picked up it, and right after putting down, picked up my mate's LTD H500, I notice that the Ibby was a little bit fragile. I think I got lucky with it, since the trem wasn't going out of tune horribly, even after abuse, but I decided I wanted something less flimsy, a hardtail, and with hotter pickups. So when me and my mate were checking out different guitar stores to find him a new axe (he's been playing a Squire for nearly 2 years), I was asking about the Schecter Omen 6. I liked it, but didn't appreciate the bolt-on (the Ibby was fine, but I don't like the huge slab of wood that constricts upper fret access). The clerk told that the best thing they got in the same price range was the Cort. I had some money saved up, did some research, sold the Ibanez (with an aching heart seeing how the dude who was buying played it) and yesterday made the trip and got it with a gigbag.
The specs:
CONSTRUCTION Set-in
BODY Mahogany w/ quilted maple top
NECK Mahogany, Modern 'C' Shape
FINGERBOARD Rosewood, 12" Radius(305mm)
FRETS 24 / Large (2.7mm)
INLAY Abalone Dot
TUNERS Die cast
SCALE 25 1/2" (648mm)
NUT Graphite
BRIDGE TonePros Lic. Locking bridge (C-TPFP) w /string thru body
PICKUP EMG-HZ OPEN SA1(F) & TB1(R) (H-H) (with Coil tap)
CONTROL 1vol, 1tone (w/ push pull), 3way toggle
HARDWARE BN (Black Nickel)

Fix'd
@necrosis1193 - For all the bitching and moaning I hear about the HZ's - pretty great. They do metal well, and the cleans are also pretty good when you engage the coil tap. Of course they ain't 59/JB combo like in my mates H500 which is very similar (though 2 times as expensive). Though the quality is somewhat lost on my amp (see sig), so I gotta wait till I can try it through the same mates Ashdown Fallen Angel
BTW I actually wondered if you get the cover for the PUPs separately

Hz pickups are just very mediocre. If they´re in a guitar already then they can be good because they are better than stock pickups. But if you are buying a new pickup set there are usually better pickups out there to most people.

No. They're not really 'covers' as such, they're moulded around and integrated to become encapsulated within one piece. There's no way to open a 'covered' EMG short of cracking it open.

Yeah, but I though that only applied to active PUPs.
@blind.quardian - After conversion from PLZ about 380 bucks.
@Lurcher - I like it a lot. The neck is a C and pretty slim (not Wizard slim of course) and comfortable - there's something to grab, but it ain't a LP either. Though, I prefer the U shape of the aforementioned H500. The lower horn could be a little bit lower, but there's still good access to the 22-24 frets.
I like the finish. They make them in red too, and I wanted one of those, but sadly they weren't in stock. But the Tiger Eye is nice too. Actually the clerk said that they had a few different ones, and in his opinion this was the nicest one. I had my doubts, but when I saw it person it looked great so I went for it.

very nice! i love the shape of that thing! happy new guitar day

and about the pickups, EMG makes passive pickups too, which are not covered. there's no reason for them to be. you can't uncover an active pickup, from what i've been told. there are a few passive pickups made to look like actives, but they're always ridiculously cheap and awful sounding

That's a beautiful guitar. Also, is it just the picture or are the inlays blueish?
