My brother who is a bassist recently turned 18 and I was gonna buy him and acoustic bass that can be plugged to an amp.. My question is for an Acoustic Bass would I need a Acoustic bass amp, or what? I'm super sorry if this doesn't belong here.

acoustic basses aren't too useful, except for the ease of use.

I just use a 2 string classical guitar so drop tuned it'd confuse Mastadon.

the only one that is going to greatly improve on the experience given by my 20 dollar instrument would be an upright bass or a Tacoma Thunderchief.

EDIT: Tanker69, Markbass and Acoustic and SWR do.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

Heh. I don't know why he wants it when he has a presion one by Fender but he says it's always been a small dream of his. Lol

It's Epiphone so I guess we're all good there.

And thank you Tanker.

the only practical use i can see for an acoustic bass is playing in an acoustic band.
My Gear:
Gibson Faded Flying V
"Dante's Inferno" Iceman
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 112
etc.

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

you seem to have only gotten one really usefel halpfull post so far.

yes you can, a bass amp is a bass amp man, but i dont know if they even make a acoustic/electric bass, youde be better off just buying one or the other.
