Wouldn't B be the 6th scale tone above C, and the 7th scale tone in the C major scale?

Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.
Because the crusade article said B is the 7th above C, and I wasn't sure if there was something I was missing or whether it was a bad phrasing.
