i currently am running a line 6 AX2 212 combo amp, it is basically everything that i need in an amp but it just is not loud enough for the venues that i am playing, is there any way to use an extension cab with it?

i basically have no clue what to do and any help would be much appreciated, thanks

A cab won't make it louder. It will spread out the sound a bit better, but if you're getting drowned out already, it's not going to fix that.

Mic it through the PA.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

That's when you get for using solid state lol.

You'll be hard pressed to find a good stack that cheap.
