Hi UG,

This question maybe be a bit "n00bie" to some of you UG veterans but I was looking at this Ibanez and it said the wood was an "ash wing body" a wood I haven't heard of. Is it a spin off of swamp ash? Would it provide a good metal/ hard rock tone? As swamp ash is fairly similar to Alder. Also on a side note what does wenge neck thru mean?

Cheers UG

I believe that it's a neck-through guitar with ash wings. The wenge is used in the maple neck for extra strength.
