I am using Cubase 4, I plug my instruments into a Focusrite Saffire LE audio interface, which is connected to my PC via FireWire. The PC is brand new. Today, I decided to try and record for the first time. I plugged my bass guitar into my amp (a Kustom KBA16) and plugged this into the Saffire. When I put my headphones on to test the sound, I have annoying high-pitched, crackling, whistling sounds. The volume is not up too high, and there is obviously no gain. I messed around with my amp, I turned the "High" and "Hi-mid" knobs completely down, and the sounds went. However, now I only have the "Low" and "Low-mid" knobs left to alter my tone. And I am thinking I am going to get a pretty **** tone now, right? Perhaps it isn't going to be bright enough.

Do you think the amp is the problem? If not, what do you think the problem can be? Do you think there is any way I can get a good tone with just the options of "low" and "low mid" and obviously turning the knobs on the bass...? Help! :-(
