it's a noob question but can this damage my pickups ?

CRT or LCD? CRT's put out a lot of electro magnetic rubbish and your pickups are bound to find some of it.

over a long period of time anything that emits a electromagnetic field will reduce the strength of the pups.

you`ve answered your own question really `cos it only happens when your near the computer.

don`t keep your guitar close to your speakers either they have BIG magnets on them.

probably a grounding issue, but no damage to your pickups. i used to pick up air traffic reports when i sat in front of my desk in my bedroom
