So a few minutes ago, i flipped my Marshall JCM 2000 off standby, and immediately heard a loud pop, more like an explosion. Now it won't make any sounds, and the tubes hardly have a glow.

I haven't opened it up yet, but does anybody have an idea of what just happened?

I just hope my my speakers didn't blow; might be more expensive than tubes to fix...

Well I can almost guarantee that your speakers should be fine.
Aside from that I couldn't tell you what happened.

Okay, thanks for all the help guys. I'll look into it a little deeper later, but now I have an idea to work off.

Because of the the dangers of electrocution-via-tube amp, I wouldn't open it up if I were you.
(Unless of course you know how to empty all the caps safely)

I'll worry about it when my dad comes home then; he's an audio nut and knows how to deal with this safely. Thanks for the warning though.

If the lights don't work anymore, then it's the fuse which I am guessing it is.

The lights still work, so I guess that narrows it down a little more.

Damn, I was hoping it was something simple like the fuse...
