I'm trying decide to buy a Fender Frontman 10G 10W Guitar Combo Amp or a Marshall MG10CD Combo Amp. The use of the amp would mainly be for bedroom practices.
#2
Neither.

Go for a Peavey Vypyr 15, Vox VT15 or Roland Microcube...

Low budget or no, those amps are trash. Listen to Raijouta.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Feel free to express yours so I can make an informed judgement about how stupid you are.

i'm on a low budget

$100 for the Vypyr. The amp is far better than any Frontman or MG will ever be.

Actually, yes, if you already do have an amp I'd say there's no point in getting a hundred dollar amp.

Just save for something higher quality.

...but, sounds like absolute crap (IMHO) through the speaker, so use your headphones.

The Vox AmPLugs are great (they sound better than most sub-$100 amps IMHO) and cost $50 or less. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation?q=amplug

Try a Vox DA 5, much better then the valvetronix or vyper in my opinion. Micro cube is pretty good though too in that price range.

The Marshall is OK as a practice amp but that doesn't change the fact that there are far better options out there. For me it would either be a Peavey Vypyr if you like high gain or a Vox VT if you prefer more classic tones.

The Fender Frontman is simply the worst amp I've ever heard!
Gibson Les Paul Studio with Catswhiskers pickups
PRS SE 'Floyd' Custom 24 with Creamery pickups
Fender Standard Stratocaster with DiMarzio pickups
Takamine GN30
BluGuitar AMP1

you might as well play through a pickle.........................trust me it sounds better than an MG
