Im looking for an amp under $1000 that can do metal very well, but also has to have a decent clean/crunch. I need it for band practice and eventual gigging so it has to have some nice meaty balls to it! can anyone pint me in the right direction?

i was thinking maybe a bugera and an avatar 212?? reliability might be an issue there though...

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.

IMO, a Marshall DSL or TSL would be great ffor what you want, and leave you enough cash for a cab.

You could also go for a Peavey JSX or Mesa F-50/100//DC-5/10.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.
