Personally, I think that Strats are just meant to have maple necks. I've never played a rosewood one, but the only real difference is the tone and perhaps also the feel of the neck. I wouldn't say either is "better" than the other.

Most Strats looks better with Maple [Candy Red = Rosewood, Arctic white works for both IMO], and the maple is more suited to the types of tones associated with strats [plus, RW is more 'dull' and 'flabby' sounding on a strat compared to maple].

But, TBH, it's preference.
