I just started playing in February, and I've gotten pretty good. I still have my cheap 15w fender and no effects. I don't have all that much money but if something is worth it, I can get money if I need it. I wanted to get a multi-effect thing. The RP500 is on top of my list, at $300. Any suggestions on something different? In the near future I'm getting a Fender 212R, but is anything better in that price range? Thanks

Multi FX arent that great imo, but if you really want one get it. If I were you, I'd save up some money to get a low-wattage tube amp, then worry about effects later. Don't get the Fender, its not that great.

What guitar do you have?
What styles of music do you play?
Budget??? Is it $300 or could you save up?
Do you gig?

-Gibson LP VM
-Silvertone Kentucky Blue
-MXR CC Delay
-Ibanez TS-9
-Egnater Rebel 20
-Avatar 1x12

My rig is simple
Haha. UG's Chuck just said chuck. haha
You're not truly playing guitar unless you know theory.

Epiphone Special II - Don't laugh, lol.

I wanna sound similar to Jack White and Metallica.

I'd prefer to spend $300 - $500

hmmm...
for that kind of money I'd go for a low-wattage tube amp and an Overdrive pedal. Here is what I recommend to you-

then

Might be a bit over your budget, but definitely worth it.

Willing to go used?

And don't get the FM212. This is coming from somebody who owned one.

You can always get one of the newer Vox Valvetronix series. The VT30 or VT50. 22 amp models and 12 effects with editing features I believe. These are decent amps and can at least give you a nice range of effects to toy around with. If you feel you need more, grab a multi fx board.

This can also work for an amp

Haha I was thinking of the same amp for him. Must be nice, a couple of months into playing and can get a tube amp. I played with my FM212 for three years before **having enough money** to move on. OH well.

Try to find the TS9 used or on eBay.
