the clean channel on the 6262 destroys the "clean" channel on the 5150. I play alot of slightly stoopid, sublime, stuff like that on it to, and it works perfectly. The only thing the 5150 does a little better is classic rock, but that could be fixed with a ts9

Well I know the 6262 is better, but what about the 6260?

Some guitar companies you are missing: BC Rich, Godin, Fender (Yes they can, they just might no be someones first choice), Music Man, PRS, Agile, and I think someone else already said Washburn. I know there is more because most guitars with humbuckers can do metal.

Hi, I'm looking for a decent amp (prefer a non-combo amp). I play mainly newer metal. I would prefer a Tube amp, but I know with my budget that's tough so I don't mind having to get a SS.

Budget: Maximum of $600 CAD
Location: (South) Ontario, Canada
New would be easiest but will go used if needed
Non-gigging, but if needed should be able to play a small bar venue
Bands: All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, (Old) Metallica, Dream Theater, Animals As Leaders

C'mon, man. We're just kidding. We all know that drummers are important.

After all, without drummers, who would bag my groceries?

The Older Metallica used Mesa Boogie Mark II+ C
As I Lay Dying uses Krank Revolutions, or Krankensteins
Dream Theatre uses mesaboogie Mark IVs

I don't know what the other two use.

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

If you're mostly non-gigging and so "image" (I use it lightly) doesn't matter, why not go combo? It's a ton easier to find a nice combo at that price than it is to find a head/cab

yea, a combo is very easy to find in your price range, a decent halfstack would have cost about $800-1000ish

DONT order from beyond eleven, they do not tell you if something is in stock or not untill after you order, and then you have to either wait or go through the hassle of retracting your payment/finding a new item

I have a Pacifica 012.. and I plan to stick to it for some time.... I want a new amp and a couple of pedals.

How is the Laney LX 65D ? Suggest me something <250$

I have also decided to get a DigiTech Death Metal Distortion. Are there any better distortion pedals in that price range ? What other pedals should I opt for ? I am generally into thrash/death metal and some hard rock.

Location :- India... if it matter.

The Pacifica is good... the digitech is not. Get a Hardwire TL-2. It will crap on the Death Metal. If you want a REALLY good amp for your genres, get a B-52 At-112... it is $360 though, but you will NOT regret it. You also won't need a pedal with it.

Thanks for the post. I will get the Hardwire TL-2 but the amp... well, I just cant go over my budget. The most I can stretch is 280$.. .not more than that .

For 400-500 euros, what amp, should I buy to play Megadeth´s, "countdown to exctinction" album.

Well.. yeah I can try.

BTW, I cant get Hardwire TL2 either coz it way beyond my pedal budget. You see, in India, any kind of hardware is much more expensive than in US or any other country... and when converted directly, the TL2 is available for 160$ :|... can I get the Boss Metal Zone 2 instead ? Its available here for 100$ (direct coversion) and thats the furthest I can stretch to when it comes to the pedal.

I will definitely try convincing my dad for B-52 ..
