hey.
I have a question.
I am working on modifying a couple amps for a band I want to do.
I want to use an old gameboy or NES sound card to modify the signal coming from the guitar inside the amp, without the use of a pedal as i think it will be easier to just mod the amp.
the problem is, I dont really know how I would go about doing this.
I thought about just cutting the wires that go from the box to the speaker and inserting the
chip there but thats just a vague idea and I have no idea of the particulars.

If anybody could help me it would be awsome.

P.S. It would help if the methods provided weren't super expensive.
P.P.S. Im a drummer so I dont know any of the terminology associated with guitar mechanics.

Your logic is wrong.

Also, have you thought about how you are going to control the sounds or are you just going to use a gameboy? If you are planning on playing guitar through it, then I suggest you give up now and settle on a laptop with some software plug-ins.

Most of the bands you see making 8-bit sounds do not use games console sound processors to modify guitar signals.

Have you thought about getting one of those toy voice changers? I think that would make a more suitable starting point for a project like this.
A metal band?

Yeah, all the video game sounds you hear (in Dragonforce, probably) are just down with whammy pedal, a pick, and a whammy bar.

This is the second thread that I remember involving 8 bit stuff for guitars.
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.

8-bit electronics aren't worth two bits.

are you looking to have onboard bit reduction. like a distortion? or are you really gonna sit there and play video games with the sound coming out of the nintendo? I'm confused.
