Ubuntu/Fedora/openSUSE

I highly suggest Ubuntu if you're starting out with Linux/Unix.

Fedora is a community driven linux Distribution based completely on free / open source software. It also takes the initiative in innovation on many levels. I have been using only Fedora ( no windows, or any other *nix ) for many years, and it's always worked great ^^;

I can't wait till Windows 7 comes out. I'll be dual booting Windows 7 and whatever Linux distribution I'll be wanting to use on some new hard drives that I will be purchasing soon (I have one 250 GB HD running Vista right now <_<. Probably Gentoo for the ****ton of customization options.

kubuntu is probably the easiest to get used to for windows users. i use ubuntu which is the same core system with a different interface. very easy to use and if u ever NEED to command line something, just google it and u have a simple answer. linux is very easy to pick up.
