Hi guys. I'm looking for your recommendations for a new guitar. I'm currently at the price range of $300-$500. I play mostly heavier music, so something that can handle Post-hardcore/metal would be my preference.

I've already looked through most of the mid-level ESP guitars, and I didn't see any in particular that I liked. Can you guys recommend any brands? If you need any more information, just ask.

In my experience, ibanez makes good guitars at all levels
Breaking stereotypes by playing indie on a metal guitar.

Current Gear
- Epiphone Les Paul Standard (Plus Top)
- Crappy Strat Copy (Redecorated, looks snazzy)
- Ibanez Acoustic/Electric Guitar
- Ibanez RG1570 Mirage Blue

Try a Jackson Pro series, they're always good.

Hmm, a lot of people say the RGs are good but personally I like SA/S much better. (Prestige is too expensive for you)

Schecter?

300-500, any Blackjack, Diamond series (like my V-1 FR).

Some Hellraisers are also around 500.

Actually, I just looked at those. I do like the hellraisers.

Edit: Does anyone know of a place that I can try a lot of schecters out? I haven't been to guitar center lately, but would go there to check some out.

I don't recall any specific models, sorry. I just remembered helpig my friend out picking some guitars for about $500 and we both liked the ibanez. I'll ask what model it was if I talk to him.

They're nice, aren't they? If you boosted that money a little bit, you could get a 7 string, and put a low B on it, for SUPER heavy tones.

Assuming your price was US$ then why not do a quick MF search?

Browse around that list and see if they have any in your local stores. Remember the try before you buy rule
