You're prejudiced against the other music types. The drummer for Porcupine Tree is pretty good, and Glen Kotche of Wilco is amazing.. Also Carter from Dave Matthews Band kicks out hardcore jams. Look into drumming better TS.

Vitek from Decapitated. Too bad he died.

Seriously, though, it's gotta be a guy I know named Ratturd Reese. He's a drummer for a local band and every night before the gig he gets up on stage and sanctifies his drumset with bacon grease. "To keep the Tories away," he says.

Joey Jordison, the ink in his signature sticks have his blood in them :/
#19
Inferno, Flo M., Hellhammer, George Kollias easy...

ha i'll give Daren Cesca his credit... But on occasions i visit Alpha music (Noah Martin works there (ex arsis bassist)) and he says how much of an ass and egomaniac he was, and that he basically ruined the "We are the Nightmare" album with his over triggered drums

Gene Hoglan isn't totally fast or uber technical, but that guy always seems to just explode at the perfect time.

That makes him an insane drummer, rite?

Cause it's not used to get mallgoths and trenchcoat emos to think that Slipknot is SEWPAR BR00T4L AND METUHL, rite?

I'd say Morgan Agren because of Sol Niger Within, but he's not a metal drummer normally.

I didn't see any mention on MENTAL insanity in the OP, so I'm assuming that "insane" means talented.

Jason Bittner from Shadows Fall. What you hear on their records is just the tip of the iceberg with him. And Chris Adler from Lamb of God. I got to meet them in '05....and Chad Kent is pretty amazing too.
