The guy was okay. No parts of it really made me go wow. Nothing really new, but still good.

What is the limit breaker, the boundary at which soloing it loses its emotion? I'm curious. What is it that makes a solo lose its soul? Do you have to play at a certain BPM? Never to exceed 16th notes? How many rules should you tack on to make something "honest"?

i've always found pop to be harder to play than metal... especially shred metal... it's just really fast tremolo picking and the occasional palm mute... and the only chords you have to worry about are power chords...

This guy is MILES better than any conventional guitarist out there right now other than a select few.

I'd like to see ANY of you even come CLOSE to him.

Not much emotion. Some, but not much. I'm not speaking of his lead, of course, as it's great. The song itself, though, is pretty bland. No tension and release, just wandering chord changes. Maybe if he'd made it build up or something, it would've been better. He's flawless lead-wise, but it just seems wasted on what he's playing.

While on the subject of amazing guitarists, this guy kicks the **** out of the original post's guy.

In my personal opinion - the song doesn't really 'go anywhere'. I'm not one for 'traditional' song structure of any kind, but after about two minutes i caught myself thinking 'Okay. he's an excellent player, but all the focus is on the lead. The backing track is repetitive and bland. pass.'
