I'm not sure if I like the gan channels better yet (haven't played around on one enough) but I definitely like the cleans better.

the only thing superior about the 6262 is the cleans and a very average reverb. the end

Better at exploding

I kid I kid... (or am I)

Anyways its just personal preference. I thought they sounded decent but not up to par with a 6505/6505+ side by side

i agree, i played them both and the cleans sounds the same but i liked the 6505+/5150 II's lead channel better

the 5150 II/6505+ are alot smoother gain wise, with better cleans and slighty tighter then the 5150/6505, but the 5150/6505s gain is alot more RAW and in your face

i love my 5150 II as well as my 6262 head

also the 6260 has slightly more gain then the 6262 does, just like the 5150/6505 does over the 5150 II/6505+

its not that noticable tho

a + with the gain on 7 is the same as a regular one with the gain on 5

yep..thats why i had said slightly.

i have owned a 5150 about 6 years ago, but got rid of it for a 5150 II cause i like the sep eqs for both channels and the crunch is foot switchable on the II and +

some people think the II and + have more gain cause of the 6th preamp tube, but its for the clean/crunch channel to warma nd beef it up to make cleans more usable, but you prob know that and im just rambleing away..hahah
