Hi,

Im looking to get a loop pedal so can play over multipal layers of vocal and guitars.

I have no idea what to get. I have looked at Akai E2 Headrush Delay/Loop Pedal. But it has some pretty bad reviews.

Any suggestions???

Also anyone know what that guy from white denim uses! Blew me away!

Cheers

Ben

The Headrush is a wonderful delay/looper. It really depends what you want from your loopew though, if you want one with lots of features like memory, etc., then you should look elsewhere (Boss loopers), but if you just want a straight up looper, the Headrush is great.

Well, im not sure if its basic or what.

I want to play a sequences, loop it, play another over it, loop that so i can play freely over the top. Then also add a backing vocal and have that in the loop. Make sence.

Have you used that pedal? its got some rough reviews for just stopping at random?

I have never used a looper pedal before.

Boss RC-2, not the cheapest pedal though

Can you create loop after loop playing at the same time to play over the top?

RC2.

It has an AUX input on the back, so if you have a line level source (a mic after a pre) you can just plug it in there and loop with it as well.

But either using an external footswtich for stop or modding it to be internal is a must.

Yes, you can overdub.

You can do that with every single looper out there, that's the point of it.

No, he is talking about overdubbing.

Some loopers can't overdub. Some just do the one original loop.

Yes, im talking about overdubing! Thanks

Er forgive me for being thick but can you explaing more about the AUX input and what i would need to make that work?

Also any views on this:

Easy to use?

I have an RC-2 it's great, very feature heavy. The only negative I see with it would be for gigging, it's just not that easy to switch between tracks, stop, start, etc, without reaching down. But I think a footswitch may clear that up.

All you would need to use a mic with the Aux input is some type of preamp.

Boss RC-2

or

Digitech Hardwire DL-8

??????????????

Two different beasts entirely.

If you want a Looper, get the RC2. If you want a delay you can occasionally use as a short looper. Get the DL-8.

Yes, with a footswitch you can do all that without much trouble.

But the FS6 is twice the size of the RC2, so its a bit lame doing it that way.

There is always this though'

How'd you do that? Tap tempo and a stop button I'm assuming?

Tap Tempo and Stop are actually the same button (since you cant change tempo while its playing).

The other switch cycles through phrases.

Heres the originator of it.

Make sure to use NC switches not NO switches if you do it yourself.

All it takes are a few drill bits and some patience.

But if you don't want to DIY.

Would you say the rc-2 is more for solo stuff rather than in a band lineup

best price for thr rc-2 is £119.81 from ebay.com

Thats pretty expensive.

Theres a pretty cheap one in the US Spam thread at HCFX, and im sure you could talk the seller into international shipping.

No.

Plenty of bands use them.

Dave Knudson from MTB has one on his board.

Munaf from EitS occasionally uses one instead of a 20xl.
