Hi there. My dad had recently and randomly bought me a $350 (American Dollars) Yamaha 12 String acoustic. While i love it, i would much rather have a 6-string. Im an electric player, and i play a stratocaster. So i am soon going to take it back to the guitar shop and get an acoustic of similar value. I hear taylor and seagull make really good acoustics, so my question is which one should i get? Im going to be trying out a few, so keep some options coming. I like a warmer acoustic sound, but not too warm i want it to versitile.

And also, should i buy a humidifier for the guitar? How should i keep up on maintenance? As you can see, I'm an acoustic noob.

I feel bad looking at porn simply because of the ol' story that a lot of those girls were molested as children, But I've never heard of midgets being molested, so it doesn't matter to me anymore, as that's the only kind of porn I watch.

If you want a warmer sound, Taylor is not for you. They're quite bright guitars. Balanced, but they lean to the bright side. Seagull sounds like a much better option here.

How much are you willing to spend?

$350 american dollars.

I forgot to mention, i dont care if its completely acoustic or electric-acoustic.
I just want the best versatile-warmish sound for the price range.

any seagull s6 with cedar wood will be just fine for a warm acoustics.

taylors are out of your range.

I think you should give it a while or you'll miss the tweleve string. anything thats just chords you can play on a twelve string anyway. Its a great Campfire guitar. just give it time

$350? Seagull S6. It has a very nice balanced tone that leans a LITTLE to the warm side but not so much that it gets muddy.

I love the twelve string and its sound, but i'd rather have a good six string first. I've always wanted to have a simple six string, and then maybe get a twelve later.

But thanks alot guys, ill definitely look into the s6.

the s6 is probably a good choice. i bought one recently - an original s6 with cedar top and wild cherry laminate sides - and it has a good mix of both warmth and brightness. if you can't swing a seagull s6, you might try out a few guitars from the yamaha 700 line. good sound, finish and quality, and with the right strings, also some warmth.

Is there a specific s6 to look for? Now that i did a quick search i see there are quite a few different s6's.

The S6 Original is what you should be looking at.

Lol thanks. Yeah i like it a lot, i just want a simple 6 for now as im not TOO into acoustic. We might just take it back altogether (financially were not ready for it). But yeah it was like 320 new, and they would just order me one so i think we'd be set if i changed my mind.

not to sway your decision, but i also want to add that i've had the experiences of two guitars being the same model will play and can sound completely different.

that is SO true. i learned my lesson with one particular breedlove - i put off buying it and someone else snagged it. i've never found another that felt or sounded enough like that one to buy.
