I'm really close to getting a new amp, and I had my mind set on getting a Tiny terror untill I realized: it's single channel, it's only 15 watts, and it's geared towards a mellower tone than I'm after.

Im still planning on getting the Orange 2x12 cab, I've heard only good things about it. but I'm seriously reconsidering the head. I've been looking at Bugera's since I've played them and love the tone, but I'm still concerned about reliability.

any suggestions guys? I'm really having a hard time making up my mind. Price range: no more than 600 USD for the head

Wait for August or something and get the Dual Terror. 2 channels, Fat and Tiny Terror, switchable from 30W, 15W and 7W.

what music do you play?

do you gig? if not 15w is fine

Tiny Terrors can get the br00t4lz with a boost, but by that point you're without clean cleans.

Good idea, but theres two problems: Dual terror is around 800$, and I have a gig in august and I'm trying to get this whole new setup by then....so waiting till august isn't really an option for me

Edit: yes I gig and play with a band, but not regular giging. Just every once in a while

Editediteded: I play Modern/hard rock with a bit of metal

The Dual Terror will be about $1000 when it hits America, unfortunately.

Answer doive's question... (awesome name, btw)

If you gig, go with the Bugera. I got one right when they came out and I have had absolutely no problems with it whatsoever, and I live in minnesota (crazy temp swings) and beat the hell out of my gear, but it still sounds great and works beautifully for gigging (cuts through great).

If you don't, I'm with Groovy. Wait for the Dual Terror. Or look at the Marshall Artist 3203 series heads, they're a hybrid but they're a spot on impersonation of a JCM 800 just lower wattage (30w I believe).

Edit//

Go with the Bugera 6262 or 333XL (333XL might be out of your price range, not sure...) or maybe even the Marshall I was talking about, they're all great amps for that style.

i heard these were awful.

07 Fender American Deluxe Strat
07 Fender Custom Telecaster
09 Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster
09 Fulltone OCD V.4
10 Ibanez WH-10 V.2
09 Splawn SuperStock
10 Jet City JCA-20
97 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe

Yeh the SICK! bit sounds a bit stupid.

My genres are in my last post, I've owned Bugera combo but it broke so I'm still uncertain about them

There is a Randall RM50 combo on ebay that comes with the Blackface and 1086 modules. It's $700 (buy it now), but if you can get the money, it would be worth it. It's extremely versatile. It is something you should at least check out.

The Blackface is based off of the Fender Blackface Twin and is one of the best cleans you can get for this amp. The 1086 is the Dan Donegan Signature and Pete Turley (okstrat on the MTS forum) has a mod he can do to it that makes its sound amazing. Here is a clip if you don't believe me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVfM0BX4mNg

Good Luck.

I'm surprised Bugera didn't just replace it, usually that's their policy. You probably got a lemon in the first place for your combo... :/

They were gonna, but I decided for cash back cause I didn't want another lemon. But I've been hearing the 09 models are more reliable and the 6262 head would be awesome if I could make sure it doesn't break again

Are you willing to go used?

yeah as long as it wasn't abused and on it's last leg.

The 6262 is great, and from what I've seen they did upgrade the wiring and a few of the internal components on the 09 models but it sounds the same, if a little bit smoother than mine (takes a real close listen to notice though).

Great. I'll definately look into getting either that or the 333xl head....as long as I can find an '09 model

The new Bugera models shouldn't really have a problem with them.

Line 6 Vetta II. You won't need a cabinet with this, so you'll have that extra cash in case this continues to rise in the bidding.

This looks rustic, but it should sound great.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Marshall-JCM-900-Dual-Reverb-Tube-Guitar-Amplifier_W0QQitemZ140330950664QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item20ac606008&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A4|39%3A1|72%3A1205|293%3A1|294%3A200

Here is the Bugera. Ask when this model was made.

If you are not interested in clean tones, this is something look into. The 6262 is essentially a copy of this amp.

Bugera again.

This is similar to the 6505.

Classic Marshall. Ask if this is the reissue or the older model.

This is another Bugera worth looking into. I prefer the 6262, though.

This doesn't have tonnes of gain, but it worth looking into

Try and find a Single Recifier as this may go over your budget.

This is a good amp, but not as up-market as the others.

I would post the link for the Randall RM50, but i've already gotten a warning for doing that. Just type in "Randall RM50" and it should be the last one on the list. It looks to be in really great condition, and it comes with two great modules.

Good Luck.

Ok thanks alot. At this point tho, I'm really leaning towards the 5150 or the 6262......or the 333xl I'm gonna try them out at guitar center as soon as I have a chance
