Hey guys, Im just gonna cut to the chase here:

- £400-£500 price range (thats about $650 to $800).
- I play punk rock to metal to clean stuff so it needs to be versatile.
- I can put pedals through it so dw about gain or anything, thats just an added bonus.
- I live in the UK.

I have two key amps im looking at atm and they are the:

Blackstar HT-5 Ministack (LINK)
Hughes & Kettner Edition Tube 25th Anniversary (LINK)

I really don't mind whether it's a combo or a stack or a mini stack whatever, can you guys please either vote for one of those and explain choice or select other and tell me which one i should look at! Thanks.

Are you gigging? Because if you are, the HT-5 might probably won't have sufficient head room to get cleans at a high volume.

I would suggest a Peavey Classic 30 or perhaps a Vox AC30. Im not sure how much the vox costs over there, but they both are very versatile, great cleans and nice tube OD.

I will (hopefully) be gigging so yeah. The Vox AC30 is out of my range sorry its like £700+

EDIT: Like anything metal, A Day To Remember, Black Sabbath etc. etc. but then I would do stuff from Blink 182 etc.

And I would like to stay New.

.... can you get a Modeler??
the Vypyr Tube 60 is right in your budget and its very versatile, or a Line 6 Flextone (NOT A SPIDER) would be very good.

No, it's a power section and the axe fx won't work without one or something like it. Just like you can't play a POD or other multi fx by themselves. It doesn't come in 3rd because you can't use them by themselves.

Im not that into em :P I just want an amp that can handle like Crazy Train or Paranoid or something yet be able to handle Hotel California or Kid Charlemagne

So out of the Blackstar and Hughes and Kettner which one is better or will I just have to go and see which one I like the most?

Laney VC30 with a pedal to push it into the heavier metal (if that's what you do)
#22
Yes, it has like a smooth overdrive channel that might be able to handle Sabbath/Ozzy tones but not much more than that. The clean is absolutely stunning.
Ibanez RGA 8 (Dimarzio D Activator 8)->Rocktron Hush->Engl E530 preamp->Marshall 9200 poweramp->Marshall 4x12 closed back cab w/ G12t75's

Ok thanks K!nj!

Just restating, I said Ozzy as an example because my band covers Crazy Train thats it, however we mainly play Pop Punk like Paramore, Blink etc.

Thanks

Also, sorry for double post but is it possible to by a half stack with £500?

EDIT:

I just found out I can get the Blackheart Little Giant Half Stack for £259

Or I could get the Blackheart 5 watt head with the Blackheart 4x12 speaker cab for a conjoined amount of £500

what you guys think?

its OK for small gigs cuz you need to crank it to get a Paramore sounds with the LG.

and i suggest going for the Handsome Devil, it has a gain knob which is great and its louder.

and you need an Overdrive to go with it if you are playing crazytrain
