im going to be switching over to ubuntu from XP
but i have some Q's

can i launch it with Daemon tools? (so i dont have to burn a CD)
where do my files go? are they still there? or do i have to put them on a USB stick then put them back on?

Just call me Julius, J, etc.
Taking an Internet break for a while, will come on when I can.
I need a Q, you wanna change it with an E ?

Tokio Hotel is probably the worst thing Germany has produced since WW2.

1) You can't use Daemon tools. You need to create a boot CD or boot USB-stick and install from there.
2) Ubuntu will install GRUB for you. GRUB is a boot unloader that will let you boot from Ubuntu or XP. Your XP partition will stay as it is, if you don't erase it.

Go to the Ubuntu forums (greatest source of information for any Ubuntu user) and look up the installation guide. It helps a lot.
