what kind or brand of distortion pedal would you recommend for metal music.
#2
i have a marshall 15 watt with overdrive but i want a distortion pedal also

What Marshall model is it? If it is the MG, then a pedal will not suit it at all, unfortunately. The idea of those amps is that they don't require pedals. And because of that, I wouldn't recommend it.

Blackstar HT 5 is great. Around that price.
Basicly, don't get a Line 6 Spider III or Marshall MG. Roland Cubes, Peavey Vypyrs and Vox VT's are nice, but less long-term

If you have to 400 bucks, and you can go used, you can get a decent tube amp.

For 350 new you can get a b-52 at112. 60 watts, all tube, great distortion.

Thats more than $400 raven.

Get a combo. Perhaps a used Marshall DSL401 (Not sure of the price though sorry). Or a Vypyr, those are always good for something.

Get a new amp. Your current amp is absolutely awful. Budget?

you can hunt a used one down for around that price

it's MUCH MUCH better than the vypyr garbage

I can't argue with that. But i have never seen a used one in good condition for less than like 750.

*reflects on the MG thread*. Well i have a Boss ds-1 and a DigiTech Death Metal. The ds-1 can get enough distortion for like Metallica and that's pushing it. The DigiTech isn't horrible but it has more than enough distortion for anything you would play tho. I'd go with the DigiTech TL-2 Hardwire ... I hear they're amazing
