My budget at the moment is $400.

A few I've looked at:

Takamine EG440SC
Martin 000x1
Yamaha FS720S (nut width is way to small, makes me wonder why they even produce it like that)
Alvarez Rf20SC (not in stock anywhere)

Any other ideas?

Yah, and I love the crap out of it, but I'll need to get lucky in order to get it for a price that I can afford.

The tak is a good guitar. I would choose that one out of your list for sure.
Equipment:
- Art & Lutherie Cedar CW (SOLD! )
- Martin D-16RGT w/ LR Baggs M1 Active Soundhole Pickup
- Seagull 25th Anniversary Flame Maple w/ LR Baggs Micro EQ

Well it looks as though the nut width is the same on the fs720s as the 000x1.

In that case, I'm going to go for the fs720s.

I have a Seagull coastline grand and I love it
I'm not a Bible-thumper anymore. Realized I had a brain in '09.

I like guitars, running, and math.

Actually, what do you think of the Seagull Entourage mini jumbo. I heard the tone of that finger picked and I freakin' love it. Or the S6 folk? I've heard such great things from these, don't know why it didnt come up in the thread.

I'm not sure if GC carries them, but I'll go check and see if I can play one.

Eh, not a fan of the S6 folk body, looks like its more based on a classical body.

If you can find a Mini Jumbo for $400 then by all means, go ahead. I've seen them go for about $600 or so though. Seagull also has a new series called the SWS(solid wood series). The entourage mini jumbo has been discontinued and replaced with an all solid wood version. The prices are about the same if I'm not mistaken.

I need to take a trip to GC.

I really want an 000 shape body, like the martin, and I love the plain wood satin look of it, and some of the seagulls. I'd go for a seagull original, but I'm not a fan of dreads.

This may be a challenge to find the right guitar.
