I already know, there have been a ton of sad song threads, but I think this one takes the cake.

Also, post some sad songs. I need some.
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools

Look up You're Getting Married by the Replacements, I think I have it on that playlist on my UG profile... I don't remember, I have quite a few Replacement songs on there.

Quote by Zinnie
god placed the fossils in earth to confuse the humans into thinking that earth is older than it actually is, therefore, making men try and think outside the box....

The song isn't that sad, but the story behind it is.

Well, just listening to the way that Jesse describes the girl from the mother's perspective.
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools

Modest Mouse - Little Motel

That video chokes me up nearly every time I watch it.

Hmm. Modest Mouse has never made me cry. Just depressed me. But that song really grew on me.....
I love Foxy Shazam more than you.

This one's extremely sad. One of the only songs that has made me cry.

This one is very sad once it reaches the vocals.
"Jupiter Crash" by The Cure is a really sad one as well. Plus most of the Pet Sounds album (Beach Boys) is pretty sad, but not depressing.

Camilo-State Radio

Camilo is really sad.....

My all-time favorite State Radio song. When I hear it, it is absolutely impossible for me not to sing along to it.

Tears in Heaven (Eric Clapton) is pretty sad if you also watch a video of him playing just after it was released...You can see and feel his pain.

A "tubescreamer" is a person paid by a guitarist to stand behind the amp and scream at the tubes. This terrifies the tubes into overdriving and delivers a thick, harmonic-rich tone.

Oh hell yeah. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3QivfkjU7A <-- That's one from his Deadboy & the Elephantmen days. The stuff he releases under his own name is pretty decent too.

Sting - Why Should I Cry For You?

About the death of his father.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
