i have a squier strat, and i´m thinking about modding her, because she needs serious upgrades! besides new pickups, one thing that i must improve is the tuning stability. it is so bad that i can´t even make a bend right without detuning the damn string!
i though about putting a locking nut, but the bridge doesn´t have fine tuners,so everytime i wanted to tune her i would have to remove the screws on the nut( and i believe that that would eventualy become frustrating).
is there a better way to improve tuning stability?

replace the tuners or/and the bridge with a floyd rose?
do you use the whammy bar? if u dont do u leave it on the guitar? if you do then any pressure on it will put it out of tune

Block the vibrato or get a new one and replace the tuners and replace the nut with a graphite nut. That would help.

+1 or you can lube your nut or put graphite in your current nut if you don't want to change nuts.
