This is ****ing me off!

I've just bought three new strings for my LTD, theyre heavier gauges than the previous ones (standard) for the lower three strings, being 48, 38 and 28.

I took the three strings off, and then put the 28 and 38 in no problems (I know about twisting the knob to lower the pin etc) but the 48 just won't go in!

The pin is definitely lowered, and I have tried putting lower gauge strings into this slot and they fit fine - help!

EDIT - the .48 does go through other tuners in the guitar

I have the same tuners and can easly get gauge .52 + in them.

Try to take a picture of the tuner, somethings not right.

Hey cheers for the replies - I've sorted it now...I looked down the other tuners and saw the pin in them was just a little lower down than in the E string one, so I turned the locking mechanism with some pliers (which I know you're not meant to do but...drastic times = drastic measures..) until the pin was as low as in the others and it fit
