i have just restrung my strat and have noticed that the bridge has lifted upwards???

havnt played this guitar for a few months and it is also making a very loud buzz every time the the lead slightly moves when plugged into the jack?

any ideas?

Did you restring with heavier guage strings?

You need to adjust the springs in the trem cavity in the back of the guitar, screw them further into the body so they bring the bridge more level with the body.

It could be the cable itself. After a couple years (or even months) lower end cables will start to get static-y and have poor connection.

True. Happened to mine, TWICE!

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Jack could be dirty, undo the screws and pop it out, clean the contacts up with contact cleaner and give it a visual check over.

Don't remove the wiring obviously, unless you feel like re soldering the terminations.

Try the cable thing first though if you can.

Then do what I said with the jack.
